I'm trying to get Lan switch informations as I would with a Fluke meter. I would like to get the Lan port from the switch so I can find the Lan Outlet number without going there physically...

I wish to incorporate this in my auto-inventory software that I'm creating that is getting most informations from the PC, such as PC Brand, Serial#, MacAddress, etc.. Plus all peripherals and if I could get the Oulet number than it would be completely autonomous...

What I have tried:

I've tried to get i t through NICs informations but cant seem to get anything from the switch.

Any help would be appreciated...

Still working on this after 3 years, huh?

Google for "network switch SNMP" and you'll come up with the technology that underlies what you're trying to get at.
