Expression parsing splitting blockw with {}

I want this expression **x{y{z}}** to be parsed as  
*
x start
	y start
		z
	y end
x end
*
please help writing code in C#, C++, JavaScript, VB.net,Java

What I have tried:

Dim p As String
Dim s As String = "x{y{z}}"
Dim sc As Integer = 0

Sub proc(ByVal start As Integer)
    Dim i As Integer
    For i = start To s.Length - 1
        If (sc > 0 And s(i) = "}") Then
            Exit For
        End If
        If (s(i) = "{") Then
            sc += 1
            proc(i + 1)
        End If
    Next
    sc -= 1
    p &= s.Substring(start, i - start)
End Sub

Why are you using a language that was released back in 1998? Also, we are not here to write your code for you, there are websites like https://www.fiverr.com/[^] that can do it for you...

Despite the VB6 tag, the s.Length and s.Substring suggests this is actually VB.NET - in VB6, you'd have to use Len(s) / Mid(s) instead.

While we are more than willing to help those that are stuck, that doesn't mean that we are here to do it all for you! We can't do all the work, you are either getting paid for this, or it's part of your grades and it wouldn't be at all fair for us to do it all for you.

So we need you to do the work, and we will help you when you get stuck. That doesn't mean we will give you a step by step solution you can hand in!
