How do I create a Python function that calculates frequency?

I am trying to code this: Create a Python function that calculates the frequency of numbers 1 to 9 from a list of two digit numbers with over 100 elements in the list.

Does anyone know what the code should look like or where I can find how to code that function?

What I have tried:

Tried looking it up on Google, but I wasn't able to find exactly what I am needing to do

While we are more than willing to help those that are stuck, that doesn't mean that we are here to do it all for you! We can't do all the work, you are either getting paid for this, or it's part of your grades and it wouldn't be at all fair for us to do it all for you.

So we need you to do the work, and we will help you when you get stuck. That doesn't mean we will give you a step by step solution you can hand in!

You're not going to find anything that will "tell you" how to write the code or what "the code looks like".

You're expected to think about the problem and solve it. Work out how you would do it by hand and then you can write the code to do the same thing.
