Is it possible that my app can move to the foreground like `sytem modal`and block all activities?

I need this for a mobile app which on a specific actions pops up and blocks all activities until it is freed by an code?

I am new to mobile development and just want to check the possibilities for my app design and functionality.

This should be used to block the phone of my kids, to force them to come to dinner. This screen time stuff is not working in this case. ;-)

Why not just call them? Or better still, take a hammer to their phones.

If I call them they just end the call and I don´t really want to waste my money on new phones because I destroyed the old ones

That also could be a solution but I would really like to now if it´s possible to not exit the app, if i don´t use it for my kids then maybe in an other way

You need to think about this some more. Firstly even if you could create such an app, how do you actually force it to run at any particular time? And then what happens when the kids see it? Most likely if they cannot just dismiss it, they do one of two things: Use the phone controls to terminate it (easy), or just uninstall it from the system. Remember young people today are much more aware of what you can and cannot do with a mobile device.

Yeah, I thought that it would be possible, but i´ve did a lot of research and now I understand that it´s technically impossible. But thank you for your answer!

This sounds like the sort of thing that would be most useful to a ransomware author: "Send $$$ now to unlock your phone".

If it were possible, it would almost certainly have been exploited already.
