How do I mimic grep command with options in C using data structure like linked list?

grep command in Linux with options like -i, -v,-e,-h have to be implemented in C using linked list.

What I have tried:

I tried in C by using file function and string function but not getting how to use linked list for implementing grep.

Here is a "mini grep" implementation: busybox/grep.c at master · brgl/busybox · GitHub[^]
Busybox is usually used with Docker.
