Greetings,

I am from the old VSS source code version control school and have decided to try Team Foundation Server Version Control.

I recently created a project, checked in project files and decided to check out a file for editing.

A partner tried to check out the same file and was successful even though I had already checked the file out.

Any idea why this happened?

I made sure that the default workspace type is Server.

Finally, when I navigated to the Azure DevOps site, the file I checked out is not showing as checked out as well.

Any ideas why this is happening is greatly appreciated.

We are using Visual Studio 2017.

What I have tried:

I made sure workspace type is set to Server as default.

I ensured project is online.

Done a lot of googling on this but have not found any useful information.
