I have connected an arduino nano to a new Macbook air, (os 10.15.7); as in your tutorial at https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/1247684/Getting-Started-With-Arduino-Using-the-Small-Inexp

Unfortunately the Arduino program shows that it is connected to /dev/cu.Bluetooth-incomming-Port
Tools also shows “serial Ports” but that is dimmed.
as a result, it cannot load my program or run.

Can anyone tell me what to do to get the correct port so the program can be loaded and run on the arduino?

Bluetooth is turned off in ‘System Preferenes’ on the mac.

Thanks for any advice,
Dale

What I have tried:

The macbook air has 2 ports, I have tried plugging into both of them with the same result.

If you got a Chinese clone of the Arduino board then you have to install the drivers for the CH340 chip on your Macintosh, see, for instance, this page: CH340 Drivers for Windows, Mac and Linux[^].
