I am exploring this side of technology trying to have a little fun in this new world. We work on physical wood blocks (usually colored to represent the use of the room) at the beginning of the architecture design. After the initial design, we have to translate it into 3d software (Rhinoceros).

The original process of digitizing is pretty slow. I am imagining I can set up a camera and the camera can look at the physical woodblock then live-generate a 3d model in the digital environment. That will be awesome.

What I have tried:

I am fairly unfamiliar with the software developer side; I appreciate it if anyone would like to share your input!

If you have to ask, you aren't anywhere near experienced enough to do this: it's a horribly complicated task, and it needs a lot of development effort.

Having said that, there are commercial products available at affordable prices, but you'd need to do some legwork to work out if any of them are suitable for your specific requirements: Google - camera generate 3d models[^] may help, but I suspect most of them are rather more "low end" than you will be looking for.
