Please edit your post to add detail, don't post a fake 'answer'. I can't see your post now and I'm trying to reply to it.

If you don't know how to do this, then you have a lot of work ahead of you. No way is any forum reply going to give you much info. Your teacher said yes, that doesn't mean you have the resources to know how to do it. Java is certainly not the language to use, as it's so slow, the source code you find in books and online will almost certainly be C or C++. I'd be buying a book on image processing that has sections on segmenting and comparing images. It's a VERY complex task. If you get it working, you will certainly deserve to pass.

Is this for paid work, or homework ? If the former, let the client know you are a fraud. If the latter, assume your professors know how to use google, even if you do not. Your question indicates you have a project that you have no clue how to do. Fingerprint scanning is easy. Comparing fingerprints is a complex task, and if you think that a forum reply is going to give you any idea how it's done, that only shows the degree to which you underestimate the task. If you've chosen this as a final assignment, think again and choose something you have a clue on how to do.
