Yesterday I bought a WordPress theme. Everything with it is ok, I downloaded all files, and I started building a website. This theme was Demo too, so I uploaded demo and I edit it because it's easier than building a website from nothing.

I have a problem with the images. I have correct images, and I know where they must be on the website because I will check it on "Check Preview" on sellers auction. Ok, when I uploaded Demo and import necessary things I have empty space on my website - this empty space is for images.

Now I click the right mouse button on this empty space --> view image background. Now I can see correct path to the image folder. It's wp-content/uploads/some_folder/image_name. Ok, I have this image, with the correct size and file extension, and If I put this image to then place using Total Commander I have this image on my website.

My question 1 is: What should I do, when I can't click right mouse button --> view image background? I can't check my path. I can't click, because this is inactive. On sellers auction in this place, using the "Check Preview" image is.

My question 2 is: When I uploaded photo using Media, and click on them I have the path. This path is different than right mouse button --> view image background. All path is the same without the main image name, all have the path: wp-content/uploads/2020/04/image_name.

If I can't click the right mouse button, because this is inactive, but I put this image to Media and check path, and if I put an image to that path, it does not work, on my website I have empty space still.

What's going on, what I should do?

What I have tried:

I tried to put images using Total Commander, and it works if I can click the right mouse button --> view image background, and put an image to correct path, but sometimes I can't do it, because this option is inactive to click.

1 solution

1. You can open the browser's console, search for the relevant element, and watch for its html code and see to which path it is pointing.

2. You may have to force a refresh of the page and bypass the cache (usually, Ctrl+F5), if the new image does not appear directly.
