If you have a SATA port on your mother board, it should just be a case of connecting the cable, and plugging the PSU connector into the drive as well. The BIOS should realise and identify the HDD automatically - if it has a problem then it will pause the POST and let you into the BIOS setup to make adjustments (not that there are very many for SATA drives)

If you haven't go SATA connectors, then you need to follow the instructions that come with your SATA interface card as regards driver loading.

As far as your wanting to install Vista, I would suggest a quick Google for psychiatrists in your area...:laugh:
