I am supporting legacy VB6 programs. I am trying to push the VB6 development IDE up to Windows10 OS, for security reasons. I have managed to register and get working all of the different 3rd party OCX controls that my programs use, except for the ComponentOne VSFlexGrid, which I use extensively in my desktop program.

I have gotten it registered, but when I attempt to run it asks for a license code. They want me to purchase an entire new suite if controls (at $1200.00 to $1500.00).

So I am looking for a reasonably priced Data Grid OCX control. Any Recommendations?

What I have tried:

I Have tried searching the web with little success. The few companies I found seem to have gone, or are going out of business.

And don't post the same question in multiple forums all over the site. Once is sufficient.

When I went through a similar exercise a few years ago I just used the standard DataGrid control. Free with the IDE.

In that contract, I discovered that many of the third-party controls they were using were only there because they had migrated from VB3 and the more "modern" VB6 controls were more than adequate.

In a related job my colleague wrote his own OCX to do the job, although arguably that was more expensive than the $1500 (far more interesting though)

So it really depends on what "used extensively" really means - be it the standard grid or another 3rd party control (not recommended) you are still going to have some conversion work to do. It's really worth checking that you really need all the features you are buying
