Java Image Class and Image related function?

Im finding difficulty to convert the gray image into pixel values and storing it into an array. Can any please help me for this..

i also need to know how to reconstruct an image from the obtained pixel value.. im waiting it to know for a long time..

Weird. I googled and found something immediately. Sadly, he took it down over Xmas, so I could only look at the cached page, but he does have this[^] which probably has what you need.
