JSF Coding for running two process simultaneously without using main method

Actually i want to process 500 files. for that it will take long time for the process to complete. So at the same time i want that we can carry out other activity and let the first process run in background.

Please suggest how to do the following using tomhawk, JSF and java.

Keep the operation to the server and only present the result to the client - asynchronous.
