progress bar in accept changes ado .net vb .net

Hello,
I have a vb .net connected to an sql server 2008 database, in the acceptchanges-update operation of the ado .net (sqldataadapter, sqlconnection, dataset objects) the proccess of the operation delays some sec (2-3) because of the blob field I have (stores jpgs in database), how can I add a progress bar or a message to show to user that it is in progress until the update/accept changes finnishes?
