Required help in Jaspersoft IReport Designer

I am using Jaspersoft IReport Designer for creating a single page report to be used with my Java application. I have created the report on A4 sized page. I have added only static content on my report.....will use dynamic content also. The contents of my report do not exceed the page boundaries...but whenever i preview my report or print it.....the components of my report are displayed across multiple pages. Can someone please help me..?

PLease provide some code, screenshot or anything, so we can see what you're doing.

Have you defined the page boundaries?
Have you defined the components's size?

What kind of layout do you use?

What is placed where? can you tell which component is disturbing the layout?
