I am looking at creating a puzzle for a treasure hunting activity called geocaching. What I would like to do is have a webcam set up so that when a Rubik cube with a specific color combination on one side is held up to the webcam, the video feed from the webcam would be replaced by a set of GPS coordinates.

If this wouldn't work, I will glad accept suggestions on something that would.

Wow! Rubik would get amazed. :-)
Of course it's all possible. I mean Rubik cube, not GPS which I don't believe can be related. But this is very ambitious. Are you sure you have enough general knowledge, skills and time to attack such a challenging project?
(I hate to say, I can even predict that some members would prefer not to waste time on helping you just because they would be very skeptical about it. This is not my reason though -- I just did not have enough of relevant experience to give advice; so I would be afraid that my advice is not so reliable...)
