Windows Server 2008 R2

Win2008-R2

Installed Win Server 2008 R2 on IBM x3200 server 64 bit.
Having issues running a 32 bit application with this configuration.
The same application runs OK on a Win 7 64 bit machine.
Any thoughts?

Solution 1

Have you tried to run the application in Compatiblity mode for the operating system it was designed for?
Have you ensured that all the dependencies for that application are installed on the server and operating properly?

Hey Marcus,
Thanks for the info.
We have attempted to run in compatibility mode(as XP) and ensured
our dependencies for our DLLs are installed, no performance improvement.
Also used run as Administrator, no change. It runs painfully slow, no errors just slow. Further debugging, we've determined that the creation of COM objects is whats taking a very long time. Our application uses this extensively.
Any more thoughts? Thanks again.
