How to get data from external Api on html page

I have a Html page on which I want to make a call to an external API and display data being fetched from there.

For Example: I have a page test.html and there is and Api : http://testwebsite.com/api/namedisplay.

NOw this service returns the name and I want to display them on my Html page so what can I do for this.
