Wondered if you could help.

Putting together a Twitter desktop client together in Visual Studio 2010 using Visual Basic for a project. The Twitter client works a charm but I'm trying to figure out how to receive socket messages from third party applications. It needs to be able to auto receive (always listening?) a socket message every 10 mins and auto upload it to Twitter but there is hardly any info on the web and what there is doesn't work as the code was developed for VB6.

Just thought I'd rattle your expert brains.I don't currently want to covert the message, just to be able to auto receive and upload.
