I have a new laptop with windows 10 and I want to run some old programs that only works on my windows 7 laptop. How can I use VMWare to create a virtual machine to pull up my old windows 7 laptop with my old programs.

What I have tried:

Preliminary right now. Just trying to get an idea of what to do.

You can use Explorer to set the compatibility mode for a program. Right click on the application, select properties, then the compatibility tab. You can then choose which compatibility mode to use when running it

1. Do i need VMware on both laptops or just the new one?
2. Thats the answer I kept reading about too... Just not sure how to connect the old computer on my laptop yet

Try the above suggestion first, you may not need VMware at all. But if that does not work then you will need it on the new laptop, in order to run Windows 7 on the new system.
