how to communicate arduino to vb6

hi! i'm just a newbie about vb6 & i'm trying to create something that might possible..

i have my 4 switch button physically they are hardware that is connected to arduino whenever i press the button a single character prints to the serial monitor and the LED as my indicator will flash...now, what i want is to show this in vb6..something like, i want that whenever i press the switch button from my hardware components what the arduino receives will be sent to vb6 application and in vb app. there will be a circle form of shape that filled by color green when the switch button from my hardware is being pressed..
