Want to copy files from Remote machine to my local machine

I usually work on remote machine which is present in another cabin. Some times i used to download a file in that remote machine, then i try to move that file to my local machine. To move the file i tried these

1) I copied the file from the remote server and try pasting the file in local
machine. But it didn't worked.

2) I even tried just drag and dropping the file from remote server screen to the
Local machine desktop. It also didn't worked out.

What i want to know is , how can i copy the file from the remote server to local machine.

Advice me if i miss anything here.

I do it all the time, and copy/paste or drag drop works all the time, provided the remote machine is on the same local network. If it is not - accessed via the internet, say - then I use FTP. Try getting a copy of FileZilla client[^] - it should help as it provides a drag-and-drop FTP interface.

I usually open through mstsc.exe in run command,

After googling several times i found that we can share the local machine folder using the mstsc.exe command.

1) Type mstsc.exe in Run Command

2) Select your remote server(that you intended to connect) in the dropdownlist box

3) Press Option button --> Local resources --> select necessary resource in Local devices and resources tab
--> press More... button
--> Select the drive that you want to share as a common folder for your local machine and for remote server.

4) Thats it, you can share the file in that drive.

You can see the drive in My computer explorer in both Local machine and also in remote server machine.
