I'm working on a project which is mainly based on the subdomains, every customer to that website will have seperate subdomain.

ex. customer1.mywebsite.com.
customer2.mywebsite.com.

I have tried to add wildcard subdomains (*.mywebsite.com) and pointing their CNAME to the main website i.e mywebsite.com but hosting provider replies that it's not supported in windows hosting(only works under linux/unix).

Please suggest any better way to do so.

I am searching for the same thing.

As I can see, your post is very old, please let me know if you got the solution.

I am having VPS, so have direct access to IIS and other stuff.

Please don't post solutions to chat with people asking or answering. The messages are not always sorted by date, so it can be a bit difficult to follow them correctly.
The best option is to use the "Have a question or comment?" (or the tiny "reply" on another comment). Another advantage is that the person you write to will get a notification, otherwise it could be that he/she doesn't see your additional question.
