Today I published a tip/trick at Getting notifications upon your application writing an error to Events Log[^]. During preivew I was able to see all images. The tip was approved but none of the images are showing up. I am basically getting 404 on the images. Do I need to upload all images again or is there any other issues that could be addressed?

Thanks

You should post this in the "Bugs & Suggestions" forum. There, the site admins will see it and reply/fix/whatever.

Thanks, I posted this question on that forum.

Please also see my advice -- you could figure out this problem by yourself.

1 solution

First of all, revisit your article. Do the following: load the page of your article and click "Update your article" found in the right column of the page, right to the title. When you do it, look at the section "Current files", on the right of the text input area. Make sure the right files were uploaded and record the URLs of the articles. Now, look at the toolbox on top of the text input area and click "HTML" (rightmost link) to see raw HTML code and look at the files' URLs written there. The anchor should use relative URLs relative the page of your article. Compare the URLs. For the reference, look at some other article (not just yours) and use "View/Source" to see how the URLs should look like. Check things up and do appropriate fixes.

If you still fail to figure out how to fix it, write the e-mail to the editor working at your article; you should have got it from an e-mail from one of the editors.

If you feel there could be a bug on the site software, report it here:

Thanks SAKryukov, All the files are reported as missing in "Current files". I will upload these files again. Not sure if its a bug or if I did somethng wrong but I would imagine that an article/tip will not be approved without image files.

I just uploaded all images again. Its looking fine in the preview. I guess I will be able to see the changes take effect once the pending status is removed.

I'm pretty much sure you will -- promoting of the article status does not make it worse. By the way, the URL of your article should remain the same, so bookmark it and wait.

If it was somehow helpful, please accept this answer formally (green button) -- thanks.
