Hi Guys,
I looked around and could not found any info on error 225 and 204 for SMTP.

The email messages are sitting in the outbox and waiting to be sent out, but I am getting error messages logged by our email system saying these two SMTP errors has occurred followed by a timeout while reading the emails content. It is unable to read any data for some emails; however, there are other emails which are getting processed just fine and there is no error logged for them.

also, I found this document which helps
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B10191_01/email.903/b10033/ch05.htm

but could someone elaborates the errors and why would they happen.

Thanks...

Here are non-standard SMTP codes. What is the mail system that raised them ? Having the exact notification text could help trying to figure out what is happening.
The first thing I would do would be to check which server raised these errors : yours, or the one you use as a relay (eventually), or the destination one.

The timeout error is coming from our system (after failing to get the message content) interacting with their mail server (not sure what kind) but the database is MS-SQL holding the emails.

Those codes do not exist imho.

What are you trying to do? Please explain.

EDIT: You might be facing not SMTP but POP3 errors: http://www.tech-pro.net/tcpip4.html[^]
