get icon to exe file when we are using resource file

Hi I have a big problem that I can not solve it until now.

I work on project that this application work with a usb lock.
because usb lock API writed with COM, vendor of lock give me a "Manifest.res" file that I should go to properties window in visual studio, on Application tab and insert this file to resource file.

When I do this work, Icon option disabled for me and i can not choose an Icon for my application.

In this state how can I set an Icon for my application exe file ?

Did you try to add an icon before adding resource? Something is wrong here...

You could ask the people who supply the resource file to let you have the source, or to tell you what values they have used for icons.
