Hi,
Got this Article FTP client library for .NET 2.0[^] by Howard Richards posted 20 Mar 2006.

I copied His sample: Download a file but instead of download, I change it with Upload, and aside from modifying the FTPPath, UserId and Password. I got the code to run, and again, got this error.

The remote server returned an error:(550) File unavailable
my path: ftp://filetransfer/testarea/cms/support/download/stmt

I'd been going around circle the whole 2 days for this. I'm new to ftp upload.

Any help with "codes" is very much appreciated. :|

Does that path exist on the FTP server?? Remember, it's not going to start at the root of C: or whatever drive is hosting. It'll start in the root folder the FTP server is configured to put everything under.

Hi Dave and thank you for the reply.

Yes, ftp://filetransfer/testarea/cms/support/download/stmt exist.

I can access that path, and drag a file in it.
But inside my console program, which generates the excel workbook, and uploads that generated excel report, this error;

The remote server returned an error:(550) File unavailable

still appears.I'd been in circle with this error for 2 days. :(

Probably a stupid question - but are you trying to access the directory stmt as a file by mistake?

1 solution

I noticed the space in "stmt exist" can you throw in a %20 in FTP URL?
