Want to connect Windows mobile 6.1phone to Windows 7

I have Windows mobile 6.1 phone[Htc Touch p3450]. When i try to connect to my laptop.

I cant able to get connected. So plz some help me out with this.

My laptop is Sony VAIO and I'm using Htc Touch as i already mentioned.I have also

installed active sync. But i dont know where i'm lagging. So plz help
