Update oracle using sql task

Hi ,I have tried updating oracle table using sql task.But its not getting updated.
If I give a condition in update statement having some records as output the sql task will be in execution mode (means continues in yellow colour).
If i give a condition in update query that have no values it will show green colour means show as it has completeed the execution.
So how to update the oracle table using SQL task.
please provide solutions
