I had taken backup of exchange(mailbox) by "Code two " software. There have been various files created SDF(.sdf),XML(.xml),XMC(.xmc) and DAC(.dac) in the storage folders.I have searched a lot about DAC(.dac) file but haven't found anything regarding this file.Does anybody has some idea about the DAC files;what type of file it is,how they have created,?

What I have tried:

Talk to the manufacturer of the software - only they will know for sure.
Although some extensions are "associated with" a particular type of date file, there are only so many three letter combinations, and just because an extension is ".DAC" that doesn't mean that it has to be anything at all to do with any particular application - and it's unlikely to be the "default" - a "data acquisition control" file for a POSIG application!

So go to the website, and see if you can find a forum, or a tech support address and talk to them. They will be the only ones what you can be sure will have the right info.

Don't know why you got hit with a 1. This is a perfectly reasonable answer. Countered.
A Google search for DAC File Extension brings up quite a few options; you may need to dig into the content of the emails associated with those files or look at what programs were installed on the computers.

Some of the possibilities:
-Prosig DATS is a data capture and analysis program
-Dynacom Accounting
-Byte reversed ADC files : Sound (TI/MIT DAC format)
-Oracle data warehouse Admin Console

This may take a bit of work for you.

Thank you Dave. I guess one is supposed to know EXACTLY what is needed without any context, AND one is supposed to write some universal code to fix the boggle.
