Updating Android App Version

Hi all,

I have made a sample android application. Lets say, that app has been installed
on some 100 handsets.
Later i made some updates/modifications(added some features) to the app. Now I want to update my previous version app to current version.

And this(latest version) app will be placed on the server. Once the user founds the latest version the previous app should be updated to latest one.
And that should happen in background.

I need some help to achieve this functionality.
