MAPI Vs. IMAP for microsoft email exchange server

Hi guys,

I am using Microsoft email exchange server and i need to create .net (c#) project for communicating with that email account.

So what my question is, whether i use MAPI or IMAP for this?

I don't want to use POP3 protocol.

If anyone done this then please provide your feedback and let me know more information on this.

Thanks for the reply.
Still i have questions or you can say i am confused in selecting one of best choice from these two. I just want to communicate with emails only, so i can use IMAP only. But still if someone really have much experience in both of this can suggest me better...
