Hi
We had a report deployed, with linked reports pointing to it, working fine for a couple of years until last week. Users reported that the linked reports were not working - investigation showed that the main report was no longer visible.

I attempted to redeploy, but got an error that my permissions were not sufficient to allow the action.

I can happily deploy other reports to the same folder (and it was me who deployed it originally).

There is still an entry for the report in the Catalog table on the Reporting Services DB, yet even our support staff, who are in the BUILTIN\Administrators group cannot see it.

This is running on SQLServer 2005.

Does anyone have better Google ninja skills than me to avoid getting instructions on how to set permissions on a report that is visible (I found lots of that), or has come across this before & can give me a nudge towards a fix.

[EDIT]
I have deployed the report to an alternative location & changed the linked reports to get the users back up & running, but it would be good to find out what broke it in the first place.

Regards & TIA, Stewart

Do you have a backup?

Potentially not - the DBA is away at the moment, but I can't spot a job/maintenance plan to take one. I'll mention this to him when he gets back.

If we did, would you suggest a restore, or create another copy & try to spot the differences?

Regards, Stewart
