Implementation of OnCmdMsg()/OnCommand() in mfc

In Tab document Interface(MFC)Application, we use appwizard and select default options for the application.

Problem:

When I undock/float the File View pane, and select the main menu items using mouse(left mouse), I am unable to select any menu items.

a) How to override the above behaviour, in mfc., ie., the mouse selections for menu items to be displayed.(Although menu items could be selected using keyboard eg., FileNew using Alt + F + N (CTRL+N).

using constructs like OnWndProc()/OnCmdMsg()/OnCommand() etc.,
