Setup of UnixBox through Putty

Hi, I need to know what is Unix Box I need to setup this on my machine. I need to setup through Putty by using WGET command as I have a slow internet connection. And then I need to setup JDK and Tomcat too on Unix Box. Before telling please answer the difference between Unix and Unix Box.

Any help will be appreciated.

Please help me ASAP.

Solution 1

Unix is an operating system and I do not think that Putty will be much use in setting it up on any machine. If you do not understand this basic concept then I doubt that you will be able to set it up. Get yourself a copy of a good book and start studying.

A 'box' is simply a term for a computer; a Unix box is a computer with UNIX loaded onto it. As I said, you should get a book and start studying.

Which version of UNIX are you planning to download? Google should be able to find it for you.
