Hi all,
I have a sharepoint 2010 intrantet portal.I have configured the Alternet Accesss Mapping. I have followed the all the
necessary steps for configuring the alternet access mapping from net. As per the insturction i have selected the
Basic authenticaion from central admin. And from the browser settings i have selected the User Authention:
Automatic logon with current username and password. And I have added the site in local intranet Zone from the browser.

But the problem is everytime whenever any user open the site its asking username and password. Which should not
ask. Before configuring AAM it was not asking. how to prevent this? Any help is heartily appreciated.

I've found the answer to this now. It was all to do with this issue...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861

Before the infrastructure update just entering the FQDN (e.g. intranet.domain.local) for BackConnectionHostNames entry in Method one worked fine. After the infrastructure update I added just the hostname (e.g. intranet) to the BackConnectionHostNames entry and this fixed the issue! :-)
