How to programmatically refresh external data column in sharepoint 2010

I have googled and found following link http://www.thesug.org/Blogs/ermurray/archive/2009/4/30/HowtoRefreshBusinessDataColumnsfromCodePartII.aspx,

contains code to achieve this. It requires SSP name to execute code. SSP obscured feature from SP 2010. Can somebody comment on, how to convert code compatible with SP 2010?
