Hi All,

When I open an excel 2010 file (.xlsx) file, I am able to use the Send to mail recipient button. On clicking this it asks me whether to send the current excel worksheet as attachment or mail as body.

However when I open an excel 2003 file (.xls) file, the same Send to mail recipient button seems to be disabled & I am not able to use this functionality at all. However if I use the save as option and save it in 2010 format then it works fine, but I dont want to use this option since I have loads of file in 2003 format. The excel 2003 file opens in compatibility mode, seems this can be one reason.

Please kindly tell me how to resolve this issue.

I am using Windows 7 Professional (SP1) 64 bit Operating System, MS office 2010.

In Outlook, create a new email to the desired recipient. Drag the 2003 .xls file into the email. Or use add attachment, navigate to the file folder select the .xls file.

Regards
