MS TFS The Project Alert is not working

Hello,

Any one know how to give proper poject alert in TFS.
I have given an alert and it is not working. Any mails coming to the id which i have given in the field.

Do we need to give some setting before giving an alert?

You sure that the emails are allowed though the exchange server? Might be it is blocked then and there.
