I'm currently doing a research regarding the usage of UML diagram. Do anyone knows any software (free source) that has UML documentation?

Do you try it? If you did, how it compares to UMLet?

Solution 2

I used several products, prefer Open-Source ArgoUML. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArgoUML[^], http://argouml.tigris.org/[^]. It's written in Java, so it's platform-independent.

Sure, as soon as I find one. I generally use MS Visio.

MS Visio is much worse to me. I remember, is has grown from a pure drawing tool and it's not data-driven (model-driven) is a proper way. ArgoUML is the opposite: everything is data driven, almost nothing you can do manually, another problems -- not reach enough. Good thing -- it could be exported as vector and later re-exported and used in really well-presented documents.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I've already browse the documentation for the project. The UML design is there but it is very old version(no updated version) and the UML was not for the whole project(by package - only important package). However, very good suggestion :)....

Yes, there are numerous problems, but I still use this product. See my comment above.
