In all honesty, it may be hard to find impartial case studies. Microsoft and Amazon are dumping a lot of money on advertising and PR to push their products, typically hyping up their abilities, while trying to silence critics. I'm no expert, but I have seen a client of ours waste 3 months worth of development and implementation time, just to find out MS's cloud service was incapable of providing them with the service they need. I think the cloud services are okay for some things, but MS and Amazon would like you to think it's a magic bullet.
