Hi..

I want to create an ActiveX control that contain Silverlight (.xap), Is this possible/sensible and does anyone have an sample code for this?

so, that after converting that ActiveX (.ocx) into .cab file , silverlight (.xap) can be installed via web browser.

What's the point of having ActiveX and Silverlight together?

If you know, how Silverlight works and XAP gets downloaded, you can understand in a way they are similar but Silverlight is far more better as it is cross-browser (whereas ActiveX are not)

Having a silverlight page will automatically trigger the download of XAP and install that on the web-browser. Further, there are security concerns with ActiveX and one need to sign it in order to mark it safe.

hi,,
I have a .xap file of silver light player, currently this is directly load in to the site n' silver-light player is available . BUT ,
i want to use an active X control(.cab) to load silver-light player in website , so user have to first allow the active X control to load n' then active X control(.cab) loads a silver-light player(.xap)..

if u have any idea then, pls help me.
I'm with Sandeep on this. It's pointless, which means it's not sensible. Silverlight is a web technology and is hosted by a web site. You don't "install" xap files on a desktop.
