Editing a row on button click event in a gridview

I have a gridview in which some colums are read only and some columns are editable. I have added an edit button column so that on clicking the button, the columns should be made editable with a dropdown control and also the data that is edited should be inserted into 2 tables simultaneously.

Can anyone help me with this.

Well, have a look at this: Editable Nested GridView (All-in-One)[^]
It has much more features then you are working at. It should help you.
