The last time we had to change the underlying database schema, we were using VS 2003 or 2005. We're now using 2008 and need to add a table. A double-click on the xsd file in the solution explorer opens a text editor for the schema XML, not the editor I remember using last time. A right-click offers "View Designer," but the result of choosing that is a blank page. Where did the nice graphic editor go?

That blank page is the only visual XML designer in VS2008 AFAIK. Sometimes it scrolls to an unused part of the diagram for no obvious reason or shrinks everything down to a miniscule size, although I've only ever had that once.

If you search on visual studio xsd designer you will see threads/articles about the Schema Designer being discontinued in VS2008.
