Hello all. I am interested in creating a directions/navigation app for my college so the students can find the various places on campus. I would like for them to be able to type in their destination and a highlighted route is generated for them based on their current location on campus. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

What I have tried:

I am currently doing research as to what is the best way to accomplish this.

What have you tried?
Where are you stuck?
What help do you need?

The Quick Answers section is undoubtedly the wrong place to ask such a question (since a long answer is imminent). Have you considered the actual Android forum? Lengthy discussions are better served there.

In short, since campus locations are finite in number, have you considered keeping them, along with their lat/long coordinates in a database? A student could then choose their location from a list (i.e., Spinner), and the corresponding coordinates could be "pinned" to a map.
