I have some experience in asp.net mvc and asp.net core mvc. Mostly studying and a couple small projects. Would say equivalent to 6 months or less experience. I want to take the 70-486 exam and am wondering how hard it would be to pass. So far my estimate would be 3 to 4 months studying 3-4 hours a day. Would this seem correct?

What I have tried:

As of now i haven't tried anything. Am just trying to get an ideal of what it would take to pass this exam.

That is like asking us how long it would take you to get to the top of Mount Everest. An impossible question to answer.

We can't tell you that - we have no idea of your aptitude or abilities. And most important we have no idea how "good you are at learning", how you react to exam pressure, or even how dedicated you are to spending 3 or 4 hours of your spare time every day on the course materials.

And all of those will have massive influences on how long it takes you to get to the point where you could pass the exam. For some people, it would be pretty much immediate - they have the required knowledge and experience already - for others it could take years assuming they don't get bored after the first couple of weeks and go to the pub instead!
To add to that, there is the study method: sitting on your own watching Youtube videos is a poor way, a "proper course" with structure and a good tutor can make a massive difference.

See if you can find a couple of sample papers and get some feel for how complex they are - that should give you an idea how long it could take you compared with other exams you have studied for.
