My hosting provider use sql server 2014 version and i have installed 2017 version on my laptop, can i make Management studio 2017 to use older version (2014) or do i have to delete this new version and install older?

What I have tried:

I have tried to change version in options but when i create .bak file and try upload it to server i got error that i use wrong version.

Also i have tried to do the same on other computer wich use version 2014 and everything went smooth.

On your database on your 2017 instance, you need set the compatibility level to match your 2014 instance's.
