Is their a method to change default web browser in registry windows 10

As of version 1803 also known as April 2018 update has caused the browser that I was using to stop being the default browser and went back to Edge. I need an C# equivalent answer that would help fix the situation caused by the update and what registry keys I need to set to prevent this happening again.

What I have tried:

I have tried to change some registry keys by associating the progid with my app however it seems to go back to edge at shutdown of the custom browser

Such information should be available on internet, with little effort.
There no need of a c# app to 'change some registry keys' , a '.reg' file is enough.

Solution 1

As Patrice T mentioned you can create a .reg file[^], but you don't have to. You can quickly change your default browser by through windows settings. See: Change your default browser in Windows 10[^]
