I have a question - Does the result of gauss elimination be sorted to perform interpolation of the values. I need to locate the position of the values.

What I have tried:

Need help/guidence for the sorting results of gauss elimination before interpolation

Looks like a mathematical question !
Slightly out of topic.

I do not for certain but, logically, it seems like they should be sorted. My reasoning is interpolation between non-adjacent values does not seem valid. One should interpolate between adjacent values it seems to me. If the values are all points on the same line then it won't matter but for a set of non-linear values it will matter. For example, if you have three non-linear 2D points with X coordinates at 1, 3, and 4 it does not make sense to interpolate between the values at 1 and 4 to determinate the value at 2.
